Cooking with the Ques

The Cooking with the Ques Culinary Program, hosted by the Iota Phi Foundation, is an engaging and educational initiative designed to equip young individuals with essential culinary skills while fostering a love for cooking. The majority of the program takes place in Anderson Manor’s state-of-the-art kitchen, where participants receive hands-on instruction from a professional culinary chef who guides them through each step of the cooking process. Additionally, students have the opportunity to cook outdoors using the commercial grill in the courtyard, where they learn grilling techniques and experience the art of outdoor cooking in a collaborative setting.

Key Features of the Program:

  • Hands-On Cooking Sessions – Participants actively prepare a variety of dishes, learning both traditional and modern culinary techniques in a fully equipped professional kitchen.

  • Nutritional Education – The program emphasizes healthy eating habits, teaching students how to make nutritious and informed food choices.

  • Culinary Exploration – Students explore diverse cuisines and cooking styles, broadening their appreciation for different culinary traditions.

  • Teamwork & Leadership – Participants work together in a fast-paced kitchen environment, developing essential teamwork, time management, and leadership skills.

  • Career Insights – Students gain exposure to careers in the culinary arts, with guidance on further education, training, and industry opportunities.
