HBCU Tour and College Mentoring Program

Student Scholarship Program

The Iota Phi Foundation Scholarship Program is a prestigious initiative dedicated to supporting the academic aspirations of outstanding African-American high school seniors in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. This scholarship opportunity is exclusively available to students who have participated in our HBCU Tour and Mentoring Program, reinforcing our commitment to guiding and empowering young scholars throughout their academic journey.

Each year, we proudly award five (5) scholarships, each valued at $2,000, to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to their future success. These merit-based scholarships are presented during our esteemed Achievement Awards Dinner, where recipients are celebrated with a plaque and financial support to assist in their pursuit of higher education at the college or university of their choice.

Since its inception, the Iota Phi Foundation Scholarship Program has impacted the lives of over 250 young African-American men and women, distributing more than $400,000 in scholarships. This initiative is a testament to our unwavering commitment to education, mentorship, and the development of the next generation of leaders.

  • Internship Opportunities: We aim to connect students with internships during their summer break, providing them with practical experience and insights into various career paths.
  • Pathways to Employment: The tour facilitates pathways to permanent job opportunities in the Greater Pittsburgh Area upon graduation, ensuring students have the support needed to transition from education to the workforce.
  • Skill Development: Participants engage in hands-on learning activities and workshops led by local corporate and community leaders. These sessions are designed to inspire students to set ambitious goals and equip them with the skills needed to achieve them.
  • Networking with Professionals: Students have the chance to connect with successful Black male professionals, current students, and alumni, fostering relationships that can support their educational and career journeys.

This workforce development component aligns with our mission to improve the overall wellness of Black youth and families by providing high-quality, culturally relevant educational and professional opportunities.
