Sylvester Pace HBCU Tour

The Pittsburgh Omega Sylvester Pace HBCU Tour, proudly organized by the Iota Phi Foundation in partnership with the Iota Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering youth in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. This annual tour provides 11th-grade students with the unique opportunity to explore a variety of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across several states, including Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Participants in the tour can expect a comprehensive experience that includes:

  • Campus Tours: Guided visits to HBCU campuses to experience the academic environments, facilities, and cultures firsthand.
  • Informational Sessions: Engaging sessions with admissions representatives and faculty to learn about academic programs, scholarships, and application processes.
  • Networking Opportunities: Interactions with current students, alumni, and professionals who provide mentorship and guidance.
  • Cultural Enrichment: Visits to culturally significant landmarks and participation in events that highlight the rich history and contributions of African Americans.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Each student is paired with a college-educated mentor to support their academic and professional journeys.
  • Scholarship Information: Direct access to scholarship opportunities and financial aid information from university representatives.

The Sylvester Pace HBCU Tour is more than just a week-long excursion; it is a life-changing experience that equips students with the knowledge, inspiration, and connections needed to pursue their educational and personal goals.
